Scientific meeting entitled : “Cocrete of thatiyat al damak”

The concrete sciences division in the Saudi assembly for civil engineering( al gharbiyah branch) invites you to its scientific meeting “concrete of thatiyat al damak” on Monday 26  Thou al Qe’edah 1429(h)/ 24 November 2008 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Jeddah- al Hamra’a , where the cocrete division’s (al gharbiyah branch) administrative council elections will take place.

The fourth training session in the management and maintenance of effective planning

 

The Saudi Society for civil engineering held the training session in the management and maintenance of effective planning during the period of 3-6 Safar 1429(h) / 10-13 February 2008 at the Dar al Taqwa Hotel in Al madina al mounawwara. The session started at eight o’clock in the morning and until twelve thirty noon. Eng. Abdullah Mohammad Ali al -Jdeiby , owner of the al-Jdeiby Consultancy office, also attended the session. There were a total of 18 engineers from different companies who attended the session.

The first Scientific meeting and the election of the Division of Transport’s Administrative Council

 

  At The Saudi Society for civil engineering

The division of transport at The Saudi society for civil engineering held its first scientific meeting entitled “The integration of transport systems” at the Crown Plaza hotel in Jeddah on Tuesday 12 Safar 1429(h). The meeting was sponsored by his excellence the undersecretary of King Abdul Aziz university and  of scientific research,  Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Bafeel.

 

 

 

The meeting included an opening speech presented by His Excellency Dr. Hamed bin Omar al Bar, Chairman of the Foundational committee for the division of Transport engineering. In addition, four lectures were also presented in the meeting. The first lecture, entitled “The integration of transport systems”, was presented by: Dr.Abd el Raheem Hmoud al- Zaharani , and Dr. Tanweer  Hasan Shkour from the King Abdul Aziz University. The second lecture, entitled “ The development of the International King Abdul Aziz Airport – Jeddah project”, was presented by :Eng. Adnan abed Rabboh Zuhairi, Eng. Sameer Hashem Ashki , and Eng, Ibrahim Akram Mandoura from the General Authority of Civil Aviation. The third lecture, entitled ”The strategy of Public transport in Riyadh”,  was presented by: Eng Abdulrahman bin Abdul Aziz Shaalan from the higher commission of the development of Riyadh. Finally, the fourth lecture entitled” Studies of public transport in Medina and Jeddah” was presented by His Excellency  Dr. Mohammad Abdul Sattar Mostafa from the IBI company.

 

The lectures were followed by a speech by Dr. Mohammad Nour bin Yassin Fatani, Chairman of The Saudi society for civil engineering, in which he congratulated the success of this meeting and after which, the supporting organizations of this meting were honored.  At the end of the meeting, the election of the division’s administrative council took place. The council was formed from:

  2. Dr. Hamad Ibrahim al-abd el Wahab
  3. Dr. Sabri Ahmad Shahateh
  4. Eng. Omar Mohammad Omar Bawakad

The society’s council in the Mecca branch has held its first scientific meeting entitled “The management of construction projects in Saudi Arabia in the light of high prices” at the Grand Coral Hotel in Mecca on Sunday the 1st of Rabie al awwal 1429(h). The meeting was sponsored by the president of Um al Qura University, Dr. Adnan bin Mohammad Wazzan. The meeting included a lecture entitled “The management of construction projects in Saudi Arabia in the light of high prices” , that was presented by His Excellency Dr.Abdullah Siraj el Din from the king Abdul Aziz university, Afterwards, there was a speech by his Excellency Eng. Abdullah  Saed al Saedi ,vice chairman of The Saudi society for civil engineering, in which he congratulated the success of this meeting and after which, the supporting organizations of this meting were honored. Second training course in the basics of transport planning and traffic engineering

 

 And the first Social Forum of the Faculty of marine sciences.

 

 

 

 

The division of transport at the society has held its second training course for the basics of transport planning and traffic engineering in coordination with the ministry of transport. The course is accredited by the ministry of service and took place  during the period of 5-30 Jamada al awal 1429(h) / May 10th till June 4th 2008 from 9 o’clock till 2 o’clock, at the system of Business and knowledge in the King abdul Aziz university. The following lectured in the course : Dr.Abdulrahim hmoud al Zaharani(King abdulaziz University),Dr. Hatem Abdullatif Abdak(Einshams university-Cairo),   and Dr. Hamed Omar al Bar (King abdulaziz University). Twenty engineers  from different backgrounds(Ministry of transport,the general administration of traffic in Ryadh and al Madina al Mounawwara, Al taef municipality,Al muthneb municipality,and the municipality of Jeddah) have participated in the event.

In addition, the division held a social forum and a cruise for those who participated in the course ant for the members of the faculty of marine sciences. The above activities took place on Sunday 27/5/1429 (h) from six till ten o’clock pm.

The first AUTOCAD training course for the students of the Faculty of Engineering.

 

The Saudi society for civil engineering held its first AUTOCAD training session in cooperation with the civil engineering club, during the period of 20-26 Jamada al awwal 1429(h)/25th -31st May 2008 from three till five o’clock pm. This course took place at the civil engineering department’s robotics laboratory at the King Abdul Aziz University. Those who lectured included: Eng.Mamdouh Mohammad al Joundi (Academic engineer at the engineering productivity department in the Faculty of Engineering at the King Abdul Aziz University). There was a total of 22 students from different majors in the Faculty of Engineering who attended the session. The students not only appreciated the holding of this session , but also demanded that the session be held again in the future as is was of great benefit to the students. The session cost 1000 Riyals per student.

The Saudi society for civil engineering held The second training course in  the planning and management of effective maintenance during the period of 24-28 Rabie al awwal 1427(h)/ 22nd -26th April 2006 at the Al madina Obroy Hotel – al Madina al monawwara. Engineer Abdullah Mohammad Ali Al Jdeibi from the Al Jdeibi offive for engineering consultancy attended the course. 22 people who were involved in the maintenance field and from other fields attended the course.

The Saudi society  for civil engineering held The fifth scientific meeting entitled     ( The successes and hindrances of the application of new technologies at the al-Khersaneh) on Tuesday,20th Rabie al awwal 1427(h)/ October 19th 2005.

 The civil engineering society  visits the Royal commission in Yanbou’

A delegation of the Saudi society  of Civil Engineering, at the University of King Abdul Aziz vivsited the Royal Commission in Yanbou’ on Wednesday 8/2/1427(h). The delegation was represented by the following: Chairman of the assembly Dr. Mohammad Nour Yassin Fatani, Vice chairman Eng. Abdullah Saed al Saedi, guardian of the assembly Eng. Faisal Abdulrahman Asra,  member of the assembly Dr.Abdulrahim Hmoud al Zaharani  who is in charge of the scientific programs, member of the assembly Dr. Sabri Ahmad Shahateh who is in charge of divisions and branches, and Eng. Mefreh Mohammad al Zaharani who is in charge of the assembly membership.

His Excellency,Dr. Aquily deifalla Jawaji ,the general manager of the royal commission, along with deputies and commission officials have received the delegation.

The visit also included a meeting of the administrative board members with the royal commission’s manager and other commission officials and engineers. In the meeting, the delegation has explained more about the society’s activities, contributions, role in the development of civil engineering, and its future plans to fulfill scientific and professional communication among its members and other institutions. In addition, the delegation has also obtained an idea of the commission’s achievements and contributions in the development of Yanbou’ industrial city. Both sides have also exchanged ambitious  and professional ideas  that are supposed to improve the level of performance, being in itself one of the main assembly’s goals.

Moreover, Dr.Abdulrahim Zaharani has clarified the fact that this visit is part of the important plans and university fieldtrips to the kingdom’s prominent cities. This visit has in fact opened new horizons for the cooperation between the society and the commission in order to serve and support the community and the country.

The second training session in evaluative engineering

The Saudi society for civil engineering held The second training course in evaluative engineering from 4-8 Safar 1427(h)/4-8 March 2006 and from eight till half past twelve o’clock at the Sheraton Hotel in Jeddah. Eng.Abdulaziz bin Suleiman al Yousifi, owner of al Yousifi engineering office lectured in the session. The number of participants was 25 and was mainly made up of engineers and students.

 The Second training course in  giant projects management  with PMP methodology

 

The Saudi society for civil engineering held The second training course in giant projects management during the period od 14-18 Rajab1428(h)/ 28th June till 1st of August 2007 at the meridian hotel in Al hada.  The course took place from 9 am till 4 pm and was lectured by Eng.  Abdullah Mohammad al Jdebi. The number of participants was 25 and was mainly made up of engineers and students specialised in the field of project management.

The third training course in the  principles of evaluative engineering

 

The Saudi society for civil engineering held The third training course in the  principles of evaluative engineering for transport engineers. The course took place during the period of 26 Rabie al waal- 1st Rabie al thani 1428 (h)/ 14th-18th April 2008 from 9 am till 5 pm at the Sheraton hotel in Jeddah. Dr. Imad Walif Shablak and Eng.Mohammad Shafik Atham lectured the session. The number of participants was 18 engineers and engineering specialists.

The Saudi society for civil engineering held The  first training course in the design of  Asphalt mixtures using the Superpif system. The course took place during the period of 15 -17 Safar 1428 (h)/ 5th-7th March 2008 at the Sheraton hotel in Jeddah. Dr. Ibrahin Ahmad al Dabib and Eng. Mohammad Shafik Atham lectured in the session. The number of participants was 20 Traffic engineers and specialists.

In the legal aspects of construction and maintenance contracts. The session took place during the period of 27 -29 Shawwal 1427 (h)/ 18th-19th November 2006 at the Sheraton hotel in Jeddah. Dr. Abdullah Mohammad bin Seraj, undersecretary of the municipality of Jeddah for construction and projects lectured in the session. The number of participants was 45 who came from different fields including Engineering and project engineering.

The chairman of the administrative council, Dr. Mohammad Nour Yasin Fatani has done a presentation of the council, its goals, and role in serving the community. He also pointed out the importance of opening new branches of the society throughout the kingdom in order to improve the level of performance and to form qualified cadres that develop engineering in general and civil engineering specifically. In addition, the chairman has also mentioned that new branches of the society have opened in each of the following cities; Al-Riyadh, the eastern region, and Mecca. His Majesty the prince has appreciated this presentation of the society, which was the first engineering society under the umbrella of king Abdulaziz university. His majesty also expressed his thanks to the chairman, vice chairman, and members of The Saudi society for civil engineering’s administrative council, as well as his desire to open other branches of the assembly in Al Madina al Monawwara.

At the end of the visit, the delegation expressed its thanks and gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince of al Madina for his generous hospitality and reception.

 The Sultan sponsors The Saudi society for civil engineering’s branch in the eastern region and the holding of the general assembly.

 His Excellency the president of King Fahed university of petrol and minerals, Dr.Khaled bin Saleh al Sultan, opened a general assembly of the Saudi Society of Civil Engineering (Eastern Region Branch) and sponsored a scientific meeting. The meeting was organized by the Saudi Society of Civil Engineering Sciences in collaboration with the Division of the Eastern Branch of Al Khersaneh supported by the Global Suhaimi company, on Sunday 5/5/1426 (h) - 12/6/2005.

The division of concrete sciences has held its first consultative meeting on Saturday 27 Sha’ban 1426 (h)/ 1st of October 2005, 8 o’clock at the civil engineering meeting hall in the King Abdulaziz university. The meeting was attended by the following:

The importance of the implementation process of monthly meetings for those interested.

The importance of the implementation of previously announced activities by the division so as to support their credibility and to decrease the fact that few members are not taking the activities seriously.

The presence of supporters who are ready to put any activity related to the division in Mecca in action.
