Abstract
:
This research discusses the disasters occurred in Al-Hejaz region during the two centuries 12-13AH/18-19AD including the drought, famine, epidemic and conflicts. Accordingly, the research is divided into a preface that deals with the different geographical, political, economic and population situations of this region as an initial step. Then the first chapter discusses the natural disasters that occurred in the region during these two centuries whereas the second chapter concentrates on the human disasters including the internal conflicts, regional disorder and fight. The third chapter represents a study about the impact of these disasters on Al-Hejaz society during the two centuries 12-13AH/18-19AD such as the security breach and migration, material and human losses resulting from those disasters in addition to their impact on social and intellectual life, trade roads and others. The last chapter pays attention to studying the ways and efforts taken by people or local and Ottoman authorities to face such disasters
