Abstract |
: |
- the event in narrative poem has been related with figures who had an effective role in the history of literature. These literary figures are, in a sense, historical. However, they had their own distinguishing identity. That is, the poetic identity. They attracted significant interest of contemporary poets from different countries, who could embody their modern visions through the pains and ambition of those poets of old times. In the temporal and spatial distances of such embodiment is formed the features of conflict with its varied directions. It determines the self-concerns and collective concerns of modern Arab man.
Sohaim was one of those poets of Arab old times whom Al-Qussaim employed in his poetry and made them effective presence in modern Arabic poem. Nevertheless, this prominent presence of the character of Sohaim in Al-Qussaim's poetry is also attributed to Sohaim himself, who had an artistic richness, great traditional value and ability to form various human and social worlds. This artistic figure has also great significance as it is rich in symbol, myth and disguise. Therefore I found that it is good to study of recalling the traditional figures, especially, literary ones, to reveal the role of the Saudi poet in inspiring and serving heritage, and his care to select the literary character suitable for his themes and the interpretation of the adopted issue |
